UM Stripped of Scholarships, but Bowl Game is Allowed

A person familiar with the situation tells The Associated Press that Miami will lose nine football scholarships over three years as part of the NCAA penalties to be announced in the Nevin Shapiro booster scandal.

The Hurricanes will also be on three-year's probation as part of the sanctions, but will be allowed to take part in a bowl game this season.
