If you drive along Northlake Boulevard well west of the Beeline, you may have noticed a sign reading "Future Extension of State Road Seven".
The Mayor of West Palm Beach says don't expect that to happen soon, or at all if she can help it. Jeri Muoio says she was shocked to read that sign just outside the Ibis community, where she lives, according to the Palm Beach Post.
It's a plan that she's opposed to, claiming it would damage her city's water supply.
Environmental concerns have also been expressed by Democratic U.S. Representatives Lois Frankel and Alcee Hastings.
In favor of the State Road Seven extension are the Villages of Wellington and Royal Palm Beach.
Work is no where near being started on the project.
