Didn't get enough golf last weekend?
Royal Palm Beach High School has several career or choice academies and the need to help fund them. That's why a golf tournament is going on this Saturday March 8th at the Links at Madison Green.
Laurie Cotton, the school's Academies Coordinator, tells WJNO what some of the money will go towards.
"In the HVAC academy for example, one of the things on our wishlist is to get more lab tables. We would (also) like to get a new medical dummy for our Medical Sciences academy."
Some of the proceeds also benefit the school's athletics department.
Cotton says this is a win-win for the community and the students.
"People who enjoy playing golf but don't belong to a club or don't get out every week, this is a great way to sponsor our school programs and also get out and enjoy themselves. That's really the focus of the day is to have some fun while we raise some money."
There will be an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start on Saturday, with registration and a breakfast ahead of that. There will also be an awards luncheon after the tournament.
There are still some slots open to play and if you own a business, you may consider sponsoring a tee sign.
