The Honor Flight program began several years ago and it's doing great things. They charter a jet and take veterans to the nation's capital so they can see the memorials in their honor before they die. Each veteran is assigned a guardian for the one day trip. I recently spoke with Todd Tucker who is a guardian and has been involved in the program since it began. He says they have four flights a year; April, May, September, and October. The next flight is this Saturday, but it's full as is the May flight. September and October flights have seats available and if you'd like more information you can visit www.honorflightssefl.org or call 855-FLY A VET.
